Mud Pump Pistons
Piston assembly is the important spare parts and expendable parts of oil drilling mud pumps.
It’s composed of Snap spring, retainer, piston cup and piston hub.
We offer a full line of pistons assembly for duplex and triplex mud pumps. All types are fully interchangeable with API standard designed pistons and deliver maximum performance in almost all drilling conditions.
Piston size is available from 4” to 7-1/2”.
There are two types of pistons:

Bonded pistons: Vulcanizing piston cup on piston hub directly, and don’t need press plate and snap spring to fix.

Replaceable pistons: can remove the piston cup, and the pistons are fixed by press plate and snap ring.
Someone also distinguish the pistons by single action piston and double action piston. The double action piston is often used in Russian pumps.
Material of piston hub: forged by 45# steel or 40Cr with hardening and tempering
Material of piston cup: urethane
NBR rubber
Surface treatment of piston hub: by phosphating and by Oxidizing
Bonded Piston
super premium piston:
Someone also calls supreme piston; high temperature resistance piston.

Service life: ≥400 hours
Suitable for zirconial ceramic liner and high pressure mud pump
Good performance under extreme drilling conditions

Someone also calls piston assembly with PU cup, bonded piston with polyurethane

Service life: ≥200 hours and ≥300 hours
